Switchboards & Re-Wiring
Your switchboard is the heart of the installation, and in a lot of homes around Geelong and the Bellarine it’s the oldest part of the house that nobody has looked at. Ceramic fuses, rewireable fuse wire, no safety switches, and a board with no spare ways left in it — all common, and all worth sorting before they cause a problem.
- Signs your board needs attention: ceramic or rewireable fuses, no safety switches, fuses blowing repeatedly, a burning smell or discolouration around the board, or no room left to add a circuit for a new air conditioner, oven or EV charger.
- Switchboard upgrades. New enclosure, modern circuit breakers, RCD protection across the circuits, properly labelled so the next person who opens it knows what’s what. We test and certify the work when it’s done.
- Full and partial rewires. Older properties often have a mix — some circuits redone at some point, others still original. We can rewire the whole building or just the sections that need it, and tell you honestly which it is.
- Mains upgrades. A modernised house draws far more than the original installation was designed for. If you’re adding ducted heating and cooling, an induction cooktop, a pool, solar or an EV charger, the consumer mains and the supply may need upsizing first.
- Timing matters on a renovation. A rewire is far cheaper and far less disruptive while the walls are open. If you’re planning work, get us in early rather than after the plaster goes back on.
